How to use a template
Once you've designed a template in the editor, the next step is to actually put it to work on your products. How you do that depends on the channel you're advertising on.
There are two ways to use a template, and the right one depends on whether you're working with a Meta Catalog or a regular product feed.
On Meta Catalog ads (Template Variants)
If you're running Catalog Ads on Facebook and Instagram, use Template Variants. Variants let you show different templates in different ads from the same product catalog, perfect for A/B testing designs or tailoring creatives to different audiences. Variants support all formats, including 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16.

On product feeds (Output Mapping)
For every other sales channel, like Google, TikTok, Snapchat and custom channels, you apply a template through Output Mapping on the feed itself. This replaces the product image in the feed with your designed template image.
Which one should I use?
- Meta Catalog Ads → use Template Variants.
- Any other feed/channel → apply the template via Output Mapping.
